We Imitate Sleep to Dream of Dissent
Editorial Design“We Imitate Sleep to Dream of Dissent” is a two-year art project of five performance pieces by ten artists. The printed publication of the project contains seven uniquely sized, modular booklets held together with a steel prong fastener, and encased in a hard-shell enflute envelope. Each performance is documented in a separate booklet, with size, colour and paper stock used to add further differentiation. An introductory essay and field guide were included. The overall design taps into a “lab tech” aesthetic to hint at the research-based nature of the project. Created for FADO Performance Art Centre. The design won the Applied Arts Design 2024 award for Book Design and was shortlisted for a Communication Arts 2024 Design award.
